A recent study found a 529% Return on Investment (ROI) on Executive coaching!   (MetrixGlobal LLC)

Why all the buzz on coaching in the workplace?

Well, coaching is proven to work - just ask the thousands of companies such as IBM, New York Life and Coca-Cola that have implemented coaching as a way to develop people.  The belief is that, under the right circumstances, one-on-one interaction with an objective third party can give a focus that other forms of organizational support simply cannot provide.

Organizations are finding that bringing coaching into the workplace has dramatic results such as:

  • Increased communication across the organization at all levels
  • Motivated staff to achieve bigger, more rewarding goals
  • Individuals taking ownership and responsibility for their behaviors and actions
  • Encouraging individuals to stretch beyond their assumed constraints
  • Building trusting workplace relationships
  • Increasing leadership development
  • Increasing productivity and improving performance
  • Retaining top performers
  • Reinforce training and skill development
  • Align individual performance to team and organizational objectives

While there are many executive coaches out there, I believe that coaching has the greatest impact in the following areas:

  • With your Top Performers
  • With managers making the transition into leadership roles
  • With your High Potential employees
  • With newly appointed managers and leaders
  • When used as part of a talent management strategy
  • With workgroups and teams.  Contact Me to find out more information on Group Coaching!

When coaching is thought of as something desirable, you achieve greater results than if coaching is only seen as a solution for a 'problem' manager.  Coaching is most beneficial for those who desire success, those who want 'more' out of their personal & professional lives, and those who assume responsibility.

Companies and individuals seeking a coaching partnership should ask themselves:

  • Is the individual ready, willing and able to participate in a coaching partnership?
  • Does the individual have the skills and abilities to perform after receiving coaching?
  • Is it understood that the coach is not responsible for change - only the individual themselves can affect true change.

Note:  All the following steps may take place in person or over the phone, depending on the location of the client and what the client desires.

Step 1:   A meeting takes place between the individual coachee and myself to determine if there is a fit.  Coaching is only effective if both parties find they can work together.

Step 2:  A meeting will take place between the coachee, the sponsor and myself.  This step is vital to ensure everyone is on the same page in regards to how the coaching will proceed and what outcomes are desired.

Step 3:  An initial intake package may be completed based upon the outcomes desired.  This intake package may consist of a number of assessments to help in gaining better self-understanding.  The assessments may include the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator TM and the Life Styles Inventory TM.  360 Assessments may also be completed depending on the situation and client needs.

Step 4:  In the next step, assessments are reviewed, vision is discussed and outcomes for the coaching period are established.

Step 5:  T he coachee and myself meet regularly to discuss progress toward the goals.  During these sessions I listen, I question and challenge the coachee, I give honest feedback, I give advice where appropriate, and I objectively support the coachee in reaching their goals.  The number of meetings will vary from client to client along with the length of the entire process.  These will be established during Step 4, although a typical coaching contract is 3 months or longer.
