My model for successful organizational performance has two key factors:


1.  Alignment of organizational componets - the Performance Circle

2.  Trusting Relationships 



The Performance Circle is a visual representation of what I believe is necessary for any organization to be successful.  Surrounding organizational performance (or you could put in the center of the circle quality, results, or whatever matters most in your organization) are four key components:  Vision/Values, System Processess, People & Organizational Culture.  When all four components are in alignment and working together, the road to exceptional organizational performance is smooth.  However, when just one element of the circle is out of balance, the continuity is broken and impacts all other parts.  In this scenario, the road to exceptional performance is virtually impossible.

In my consulting practice, I partner with client organizations to focus on the cultural and people side of your business and see how it aligns with your vision & values and your systems and processes.  

 


"Your Conversations Are your Relationships"

While the Performance Circle looks at the four key components, the foundation necessary to achieve alignment in each of the four components is relationships.  I believe,  what REALLY matters in organizations are the relationships that are built and maintained with all stakeholders. Relationships with customers, relationships with staff, relationships with networks, relationships with the community, relationships with shareholders (if applicable).

In order to determine the effectiveness of the relationships in your organization, start listening to conversations.  Are there hidden agendas,  do individuals or teams keep knowledge to themselves, is communication lacking, are tough issues brushed over so as not to upset anyone? If the answer is yes, it may be time to take a serious look at the relationships within your organization. 

My practice supports clients in building more trusting relationships by looking at how individuals and the organization 'thinks' and how it either helps or hinders people working together effectively.
